Muscat Fashion Week 2012

Collection of

Indian Designer : Ayesha Depala

Ayesha designs for the modern woman who appreciates style and quality. She pays great attention to the finish of the garment. The collection is a selection of short and long dresses, mainly in tulle and lace, which have been painstakingly hand embellished and hand appliquéd with delicate beads and crystals.

Any message for the inspiring fashion designers of tomorrow?
Fashion like any other business is a business. A deep understanding of fashion coupled with business acumen is imperative. Localised knowledge of your region and its clients too is vital and helpful. Glamour associated with fashion makes up 5 per cent of what fashion stands for, the rest is hard work and sincerity.

Collection of

Omani Designer Nawal Al Hooti

Gianni Versace, Ralph Lauren, Coco Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior and Giorgio Armani — none of them went to a fashion school. It was their undying zest that got them the place they have in the fashion world today. The ever-inspiring design sense and aesthetics of these celebrity designers had nothing much to do with their formal education. They got inspired by their surroundings and rest all is the history she says.
